Thanks for joining us as we discover and celebrate the Beautiful and True! I took this photo in the national wilderness near my home in Colorado. One of my favorite trails.

A lot of people say that life is about the journey, but I don’t agree. Beautiful and True is dedicated to the noticing of Beautiful and True things in ordinary life, along the journey, however, I believe those things point to a destination. Life is about the destination.

Every time I notice something Beautiful and True, two things happen. My spirit is refreshed in that moment and it ignites my imagination about the destination. I have walked many years of my life with people whose journeys are hard, brutal, and if life was just about the journey then that would be tragic. But, even in the hardest places people find the Beautiful and True, and those things lift their eyes to a hope that is greater than today.

I stood on this trail, heart filled with gratitude and lungs filled with the fresh mountain air, and wondered if the destination might be as beautiful as this, or somehow even more beautiful. Whatever your trail looks like today, stay alert and see if you can’t find something Beautiful and True. When you notice it, pause long enough to let it refresh your spirit and let it remind you that a greater Beauty might be around the next turn.
